A trailer that is down can hold up a delivery, a landscaping job or an entire workday. Our aim is to give you a practical answer rather than send you from a parts counter to a separate welding shop. We work on dump trailers, trailer brakes and hardware, structural areas, farm equipment and snowplows. If you are unsure what failed, tell us what you noticed and where you see the damage. You do not need to diagnose it before getting in touch.
Trailer Repair and Welding Services
Different failures call for different repairs. A tailgate that will not latch is not the same job as a frame rail with a crack, even when both keep a trailer off the road. These are the kinds of repairs you can discuss with Midland Fab at the Ogden shop. We will look at the damaged part and the surrounding structure before agreeing on a repair.
Dump Trailer Tailgates and Bodies
Dump trailers take repeated impacts and heavy loads. When a tailgate bends or a hinge wears out, the gate may no longer close squarely or hold as it should. Midland Fab straightens tailgates, rebuilds hinges and replaces latch pins. We also work on wall reinforcement, floor plate patching, ramp straightening and spring-assist repairs. If the hydraulic lift bracket or its mounting area is damaged, show us that area too. Walking us through the whole rear or lift assembly along with the specific break is more useful than one detail alone. We can talk through whether the job calls for straightening, replacement hardware, welding or a combination.
Trailer Brakes and Hardware
Brake trouble can show up as uneven braking, a component that does not respond or a wiring problem. Our trailer brake work includes electric backing plate replacement, magnet tests and wiring repair. We also replace drop-leg and tongue jacks, swap couplers and weld safety chains. Tell us what the trailer is doing, not just what part you think you need. If the wiring and hardware both need attention, we can discuss them together before you bring the trailer in. Do not try to decide on your own whether a trailer is safe to tow; tell us what you're seeing when you call so we can plan a proper inspection.
Frame Repair and Structural Welding
A crack in a frame rail or damage around a heavily loaded connection deserves a close look. Midland Fab repairs fractured frame rails and reinforces structural areas on trailers and contractor rigs. We use MIG and stick welding where appropriate, with joint preparation and beveling as the work requires. Structural welds are warrantied. We will discuss the visible damage, the surrounding metal and the intended repair before work begins. Welding is part of our trailer-repair service, not a separate page or a separate business you need to find. If a frame, wall or floor plate is damaged along with a tailgate or lift bracket, mention all of it at the start so the estimate covers the job you actually need.
Farm Equipment Welding
A cracked implement, worn bucket or damaged agricultural part can interrupt work long before the equipment itself is worn out. Midland Fab repairs tractor implements, buckets and other farm machinery. The shop's work includes gusseting, hardfacing and wear-plate installation. Tell us which part is damaged, where the crack or worn area sits and whether a mounting point is involved. Walk us through what you see — the overall part, where the wear or crack is, and how deep it looks. That helps us talk through what needs to come into the shop. We will not promise that every worn part can be repaired sight unseen; the shop can inspect the metal and discuss the available work when it arrives.
Snowplow Repair and Welding
A snowplow blade, wing or A-frame can take damage during a busy storm or while sitting between seasons. Midland Fab repairs those components and works on cutting edges, including welding, gusseting and hardfacing where the job calls for it. Walk us through the affected area and how it connects to the rest of the plow. We can discuss what you need before you make the trip. Getting a worn or cracked area looked at before the next storm gives you more room to plan than discovering it when the plow is needed.
How to Start a Repair
Show Us What Happened
Call the shop and give us a short rundown. Tell us whether the trailer is at your yard, on a job site or already at the shop, and point out the part you want us to inspect. If you noticed a sound, movement, uneven braking or a change in how a gate opens, include that detail. The first conversation helps us understand the job; it is not a substitute for looking at the damaged equipment.
Discuss the Estimate
We offer same-day estimates and affordable shop rates. We will explain the work we propose and the price before starting the agreed repair. Some damage is visible right away; other parts of a job may need a closer look once the trailer is in the shop. Our goal is to be straightforward about that distinction instead of pretending a single phone call tells the whole story.
Bring It to the Ogden Shop
Midland Fab is at 2940 Midland Dr Suite #200, Ogden, UT 84401. Bring in the trailer, plow or part for the agreed shop work. Our service area includes Ogden, West Haven, Roy, Clearfield and Layton in Weber and Davis counties. We aim for fast shop turnaround and stand behind the work with a satisfaction guarantee; structural welds are warrantied. Ask about your particular repair when we discuss the estimate rather than assuming every job has the same schedule.
Talk to Midland Fab About Your Repair
You do not have to wait until you know the name of every broken component. Call Midland Fab and walk us through the damage. We can discuss the trailer, brake, frame, farm implement or snowplow problem and help you take the next step toward an estimate at our Ogden shop. If several areas need work, tell us about all of them so the conversation starts with the full picture.
